Citywide Day of Service

Kick-off Event on Saturday, August 23, 2025

The City of New Orleans is hosting a Citywide Day of Service kick-off event on Saturday, August 23, 2025, leading into a week of activities and public service initiatives to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The Mayor’s Neighborhood Engagement Office will activate City departments, neighborhood associations, and a host of volunteers for a community clean-up activity to improve Oliver Bush Playground – 2500 Fats Domino Ave., in partnership with the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Engagement, New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission, Parks and Parkways Department, and the Katrina 20 sponsors. Residents and neighborhood associations across New Orleans are encouraged to join in this effort of investing in your communities by beautifying parks and playgrounds.

Time: 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m.
Location: Oliver Bush Playground – 2500 Fats Domino Ave.
